Wheel Balancing & Rotation

Wheel balancing and tire rotation, plus an alignment check, for a smoother ride and longer tire life.

A few grams of imbalance can shake the wheel on I-5. Front and rear tires also wear at different rates, so balancing and rotating keeps them lasting longer.

Along with balancing and rotation we look at tread wear, which often shows whether an alignment is due.

Signs you need balancing or rotation

Noticed one of these? Bring it to our Lakewood shop. We inspect first and go over your options before any work.

  • Vibration in the steering wheel or seat at certain speeds
  • Uneven tread wear between front and rear tires
  • You’ve reached your rotation interval
  • You just had a tire repaired or replaced
  • The vehicle pulls to one side (often alignment)

What’s included

  • Computerized wheel balancing
  • Tire rotation following your vehicle’s pattern
  • Tire pressure adjustment

How it works

What happens during your visit

  1. Check

Every tire gets a tread-depth reading and a look at how it’s wearing.

  2. Rotate

Each tire moves to a new position following the pattern for your vehicle.

  3. Balance

Each wheel goes on a balancer and gets weights where needed.

  4. Advise

If the wear points to an alignment problem, we’ll tell you.

FAQ

Wheel Balancing & Rotation FAQs

Have another question? Call (253) 474-0511.

Does balancing fix pulling to one side?

Rarely. A pull is usually alignment, tires or brakes; balancing is for vibration.

How often should tires be rotated?

Your owner’s manual has the schedule; plenty of drivers pair it with every oil change or every other one.

Should I balance new tires?

Yes. New tires are balanced as part of installation.
